Morning Smoothie “Classic Green Monster”

 

Morning smoothies are a FANTASTIC way to start your day with nutrient density and provide enough protein to keep you feeling full and energetic all morning long. Added bonuses are the quick prep time and easy travel convenience. Need to wake up in the morning? Use an apple in your smoothie and say goodbye to your morning coffee habit! Swap out ingredients to keep tastes appealing and try to use fruit that’s in season where you live. Frozen berries are a great winter option.

  • 1 cup almond milk or other non-dairy milk
  • 1 cup de-stemmed kale leaves or baby spinach
  • 1 medium ripe banana
  • 2-3 ice cubes
  • 1 Tbls almond butter
  • 1 Tbls pure chia seeds or freshly ground flaxseed
  • ¼ tsp pure vanilla extract
  • pinch ground cinnamon
  1. Add all ingredients to your blender or bullet and blend until smooth.
