Raw Vinegars

I LOVE raw vinegar! It was introduced to me during a training session, then I came home and started experimenting! After a few weeks, we now have lemon and blueberry vinegar’s in our kitchen!!

They’re delicious and nutritious, offer blood sugar balance, support weight loss and are alkalizing for the body. Plus, adding a splash to dressings, salad, soups and summer beverages boosts flavours and tantalizes the taste buds.

Here is the simple recipe, turn your favourite fruit into something wonderful that you can use for months to come:

1 cup fruit (any type, fresh or frozen)

¼ cup raw cane sugar

3 cups filtered water

1)            Mix all ingredients together in a jar, mash down the fruit.

2)            Stir until all of the sugar is dissolved and leave on the counter top with cheese cloth covering the mouth of the jar.

3)            Stir twice a day, morning and night for 7 days. Replace cheese cloth each time.

4)            After a week, strain and add a tablespoon of organic apple cider vinegar.

5)            Wait 2 days, and then stir well.

6)            Wait another 2 days, and then stir well.

7)            Leave on the counter for 3-4 weeks with cheese cloth covering the mouth of the jar.

8)            Stir and place lid onto jar. Leave on the counter top for 6 months.

*Add to smoothies, soups or any dish you want to add flavour to, without salt!

Happy fermenting!

Nutritious and delicious
